23 Sep Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada finished the Rallye Villa de Llanes in second position
The rally started on Friday with the shakedown and the qualifying stage, in which Cachón and Rozada set the third fastest time, thus starting in third place for the afternoon stages.
La Tornería was the first stage, witnessing a changing weather, which was decisive when choosing the tyre set-up. The Teo Martín Motorsport and Toyota Gazoo Racing team opted for a wet tyre compound, which in the end was not optimal due to the fact that the rain was not intense enough.
Despite this, Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada gave their all in the stages, setting a scracth in TC3 and the second and third fastest times in the night stages. In this way, the difference with the leader was only 8 seconds.
Saturday started with eight stages ahead but the bad location of the public forced to neutralize the first stage for safety reasons.
TC7 was the first of the second stage, where Cachón-Rozada set the second fastest time, closing the gap to the first.
TC8 was also neutralised by the public so it was not possible to run in Nueva-Labra.
TC9 was back to normality and Alejandro and Borja scratched again, placing themselves at +5.8 of the lead.
TC plus arrived and the GR Yaris Rally2 crew scored the three points, cutting the gap even further.
Until the last section the expectation was maintained, reaching the same time in the TC13.
Finally, Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada finished the Rallye Villa de Llanes in second position, adding their seventh podium of the season. In this way, the duo Cachón – Rozada remain leaders of the championship in the absence of the last two races to be held on gravel.

Alejandro Cachón (DRIVER): “It was a very difficult rally for us. On the first day we made a mistake with the tyre set-up and lost a lot of time. Then we tried to make up as much as we could, but today, with the neutralisation of two long stages, we lost our chances. We tried to do what we could, we ran as hard as we could, but we couldn’t close the gap”.
Borja Rozada (CO-DRIVER): “We are happy to continue leading the championship. It was very important to do the TC Plus and finish on the podium once again, for the seventh consecutive time. It’s a pity about the mistakes we made in the tyre choice and especially the cancellation of the two runs on the longest section of the rally, which was Nueva Labra. I think we could have been a little bit closer to fight for the victory. But we are happy, TC Plus, second place and looking forward to the start of the gravel, which I think will be good for both the car and the team”.
Teo Martín (TEAM MANAGER): “We are happy for the second position and for winning the tc plus in a rally as complicated as this one where the weather played an important role. We are still leaders in the standings and now we have to think about the last two rounds of the championship, which will be held on gravel”.
