Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada take the lead in the Rally Rias Baixas

Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada achieved a new podium, the fifth in a row, taking second place in the Rally Rías Baixas, which puts them at the top of the overall standings of the Spanish Rally Superchampionship (SCER) just before the summer break.

The Cachón-Rozada duo has shown once again the great pace and consistency in the stages, where they have been in the leading positions throughout the event and this is demonstrated by the four scratches they have scored in the test.

GR Yaris Rally2 crew started the Rally Rias Baixas setting the best time in the qualifying stage, which was a statement of intent. During the 4 stages of Friday, Cachón and Rozada were close to the fight for the first position, finishing +2.9 of the first. Saturday, after some changes of setup, started in the best possible way by scoring a scratch in TC5.

Finally, Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada finished in second position, their fifth podium in five races.

The work of the whole team has been key to these great results that leave the team leader before the break and that from now on will start working to prepare the next round, the Rally Princesa de Asturias, which will take place from 7 to 8 september of 2024.

Alejandro Cachón (DRIVER): “We are very happy with the work of the whole team, it was a great weekend. In spite of some problems we had, we scored some very good points. We are going into the summer break in the lead, which was our goal. So very positive and great work from the whole team”.

Borja Rozada (CO-DRIVER): “Very happy with the result, fighting for the victory until the last stage, happy to finish the half of the season leading, having won the TC +, and well, the truth is that we also did the best time in qualifying, I think we are showing speed and above all perseverance, we will see to gather strength in summer and start the mid-season zone with more desire than ever”.

Teo Martín (TEAM MANAGER): “”Very happy with the rally that Alejandro and Borja have done. It was a tough rally with some traps but they still set an incredible pace throughout the rally. Finishing first in the TC+ helped us to get very important points for the general classification, finishing the rally and the first part of the season as leaders, which was the goal. Now it’s time to recharge our batteries and prepare for the next rally, the Princesa de Asturias”.
