GR Yaris Cup Spain and GR Cup Spain bring closed the 2025 season

Last Friday, January 16, the end-of-season gala of the Toyota Cups was held, an event that brought together all the participants from the rally and circuit competitions to put the finishing touch on the 2025 season with the traditional awards ceremony.

The evening began with the prize-giving for the GR Yaris Cup Spain, the one-make rally series which, after four successful editions, bid farewell to competition. Sergi Francolí and Xevi Moreno were crowned overall champions, while Joan Socias received the Junior Champion trophy.

The final podium was completed by José Lamela and Unai Conde in second place, and the pairing of Adrián Díaz and Diego Rodríguez in third. In the teams’ classification, CSM claimed the championship title.

During the ceremony, all participants received a trophy in recognition of their involvement, and special tributes were paid to CSM Automoció, Breogán Motor and Astuhíbrido for having competed in every edition of the GR Yaris Cup.

The GR Yaris Cup Spain is coming to the end of its cycle and will not be held next season, bringing to a close four years in which the cup served as a platform for young drivers.

During its first three seasons, it was contested between Spain and Portugal, competing on both gravel and asphalt, with appearances at top-level and highly prestigious events, including rounds of the World Rally Championship (WRC), the European Rally Championship (ERC), and the Spanish Super Rally Championship (S-CER).

Throughout this journey, the Toyota GR Yaris RZ Cup proved to be a unique car: the only one in a one-make cup to feature four-wheel drive, making this championship a clearly distinctive proposition among monomake series.

In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, this model will serve as the course car (car 0) at the prestigious Rallye Monte-Carlo, which will open the 2026 WRC season.


Next came the GR Cup Spain awards, where Dani Losada collected the trophy confirming him as season champion. Marcos de Diego was named runner-up, while Marco Aguilera received a double honor as overall third place and Junior Champion. In the junior category, Sandro Pérez and Tomás Pregliasco completed the podium in second and third positions respectively.

Marcos de Diego also received the Castrol Trophy for the rider with the most fastest laps of the season, a recognition of his consistency and performance throughout the year.

The award for Best Team of the Year went to RX ProRacing, and, as in the rally cup, all participating drivers received their respective trophies.

After the ceremony, several new features for the 2026 GR Cup Spain were announced, including confirmation that the fourth round of the calendar will take place at the Madring circuit on August 15–16. In addition, the upcoming season will offer more than €130,000 in prize money, introducing new elements such as a Senior category for drivers over 50 years of age and the Hankook Trophy, which will reward the driver with the most podium appearances.

Thus, a very special evening came to a close, recognizing the effort, sportsmanship and commitment of all the winners and participants of the GR Yaris Cup Spain and GR Cup Spain, and bringing the 2025 season to a brilliant conclusion.
