Sergi Francolí and Javier Moreno win the GR Yaris Cup Spain 2025

The Rallye de La Nucía-Mediterráneo marked the end of the 2025 season of the GR Yaris Cup Spain, the one-make series organized by Toyota Spain and Motor & Sport Institute (MSi) within the Spanish Rally Super Championship. Five drivers arrived with mathematical chances of winning the title at an event that, with a 1.5 coefficient, gave special importance to every point at stake. In the end, Sergi Francolí and Javier Moreno (CSM Automoció) prevailed convincingly, securing their third victory of the year and being crowned champions of the fourth edition of the GR Yaris Cup Spain.

After the start ceremony held on Thursday at the Auditori de Les Nits, the competition kicked off on Friday with the first six timed stages. Joan Socias (Toyota Asturias) began the day strongly, taking the fastest times on the first three stages, closely followed by Sergi Francolí (CSM Automoció). The arrival of rain during the night stages completely changed the dynamics of the rally, and Sergi Francolí (CSM Automoció) responded with three consecutive fastest times, allowing him to close the first day at the top of the standings, with just an 11-second lead over Joan Socias (Toyota Asturias).

José Lamela (Breogán Motor), another title contender, lost time due to technical problems, while Adrián Díaz (Breogán Motor) suffered a breakdown on the last stage of Friday that persisted through Saturday, preventing him from maintaining his usual pace. Daniel Remuiñán (Breogán Motor) also lost ground, while Laia Sanz (CSM Automoció) completed a solid first day in fifth place.

On Saturday, with the first wet stages, the excitement continued with exchanges of fastest times between Sergi Francolí (CSM Automoció) and Joan Socias (Toyota Asturias). With three stages remaining, the gap between them was only 7.6 seconds. On stage TC-10, Socias cut another second, but an off-road incident on TC-11 definitively took him out of the fight for victory. From that moment on, Sergi Francolí (CSM Automoció) controlled the pace until the end, securing his third victory of the year — after Lorca, Rías Baixas, and La Nucía — and the GR Yaris Cup Spain 2025 championship title.

José Lamela (Breogán Motor) finished second, also earning recognition as the best junior driver, while Adrián Díaz (Breogán Motor) completed the podium despite the mechanical problems he had carried since Friday. Daniel Remuiñán (Breogán Motor) was fourth, and Laia Sanz (CSM Automoció) fifth. Jordi San Andrés (IPPON Motor Vallés), making his debut in the cup, retired during the first day.

The title for Sergi Francolí and Javier Moreno (CSM Automoció) caps an exemplary season in which consistency proved decisive. With three victories and outstanding performance throughout the year, the CSM Automoció duo won the final standings with 131.5 points, ahead of José Lamela (Breogán Motor) in second with 106 points, and Adrián Díaz (Breogán Motor) in third with 105 points. This is also the second time Sergi Francolí (CSM Automoció) has won the GR Yaris Cup Spain, consolidating himself as one of the leading figures of the promotional series promoted by Toyota Spain and Motor & Sport Institute (MSi).
