Sergio Garcia’s masterful display in Austin, where he takes the lead in the Moto2 World Championship

The GP of the Americas has been impeccable for Sergio Garcia, with MtHelmets-MSi: victory in the Austin track and leadership in the Moto2 World Championship, with 51 points. The rider from Burriana started third on the grid and took the lead at the first corner, staying there until the last corner of this GP, which has always been his Achilles heel. For his part, Ai Ogura has made a great comeback race, from P17 to seventh place and there he has been able to stay to finish a weekend of much learning.

Sergio Garcia: “I really don’t know what to say. At the beginning it was a good race, but at the end I had some complications, but I was able to hold on; it was incredible. I had to get rid of the thorn in my side with this circuit. I want to thank the team for their work, and they are trusting me. I think we have great potential.

Ai Ogura:“I had a good start to the race, after the first lap I was in a good position. After that I couldn’t do more, because I expected myself to have a great weekend. I’m a bit disappointed with myself, but I feel positive. Thanks to the team for the work and in Jerez it will be better”.
