Iván Ortolá returns to the podium in front of the Jerez crowd

In Moto3, Iván Ortolá and Ryusei Yamanaka finished on a good note at the Andalusian track. The Valencian rider took third place on the podium, recovering from the difficult weekend he had in the United States. Yamanaka, on the other hand, was again on the verge of a podium and this is a symptom of the good line of work acquired.

Iván Ortolá: ‘It wasn’t the best feeling during the weekend, but we saved it. Also for getting rid of the thorn from America, where I had the crash and I was very strong to fight for the victory there as well. I didn’t think about the World Championship; after America, I focused on going race by race. If you do your best in every race, you’re there in the end’.

Ryusei Yamanaka: ‘I’m happy to finish P4. A bit disappointed because I was fighting for the podium and in the end I lacked a bit of pace. It was too risky to try to catch the front group and I was six seconds ahead of the chasers. I gave it my all and we will keep working hard for the next race, looking for the best pace and trying to manage the tyres better.

Sergio García roza el podio, junto al MTHelmets-MSi, en un GP de España especial, y ante un público muy acogedor, donde la estructura se mantiene líder de equipos en el Mundial de Moto2. Ai Ogura ha realizado una remontada digna de admiración, de la P17 a la sexta plaza, y con la expectativas de seguir a lo largo de la temporada destacando junto a su compañero de equipo.

Sergio García: “He intentado aguantar. Cuando he salido me sentía un poco mejor, pero cuando ha caído el grip de los neumáticos me costaba mucho girar y estaba sufriendo mucho. Estaba a punto de caerme siempre de delante. Así que he decidido aguantar, guardar un poco, y acabar. Hoy no era fácil, de delante se cerraba mucho, no acaba de ir como me gustaría. Pero bueno, lo hemos salvado, así que estoy contento y a seguir. Todavía estamos muy cerca en el campeonato, toca seguir en la lucha”. 

Ai Ogura: “Este domingo no ha ido mal. Pero no podemos estar contentos con el fin de semana en general. Terminamos sextos, pero, si hubiésemos clasificado mejor, habríamos podido terminar más arriba. Siento que quedan muchos puntos por mejorar así que trabajaremos para ello. Este domingo el equipo ha hecho un gran trabajo, remontar del 17º al 6º no está nada mal. Así que quiero darles las gracias”.
