MTHELMETS-MSI ARRIVES AT LE MANS WITH THE FULL SQUAD

Óscar Gutiérrez made his debut on the podium in the second race of the Portuguese round and wants to stay on top this weekend. Miquel Pons did not have a positive debut in Portimao, so now is the time to show his potential.

Óscar Gutiérrez: ‘I’m looking forward to working with the team again, and above all to get back on the bike. Le Mans is a new circuit for me, so we will take it step by step, training by training. I’m confident that we can do a good Qualy and fight for the win.

Miquel Pons: ‘It has been a long wait from Portugal to France. In this time we have had time to work a lot; to prepare ourselves well. I feel very ready to start the weekend. I’m looking forward to being with my team, to work together to do my best.

In the Moto2 class, MTHlemets-MSi continues to lead the teams. Sergio Garcia came close to a podium finish in Jerez and will fight to stay at the top of the overall standings. Ai Ogura finished sixth at the Andalusian track after a spectacular comeback and at the French GP, his goal is to join the podium.

Sergio Garcia: ‘We arrived in France after a good race in Jerez. It was not our best day, because I think we made a mistake in the choice of the front tyre, and that hurt our race; but the result was positive. We have things clearer for Le Mans. We are 100% and we are going to enjoy a good weekend.’

Ai Ogura: ‘The Le Mans track is right for me, it’s always a pleasure to be there. Qualifying Saturdays don’t usually go well for me and in the race I always have to fight for a good result. The most important thing now is to improve on Saturday. I can’t wait to get on the bike and enjoy the GP’.

In Moto3 the MTHelmets-MSi riders are going hand in hand in terms of results. Iván Ortolá took third place at the Spanish Grand Prix and Ryusei Yamanaka crossed the finish line in fourth. The Japanese rider is just one step away from a podium finish and is expected to do so, together with his teammate, at the French GP.

Iván Ortolá: ‘I’m really looking forward to the weekend at Le Mans. In Jerez it was a complicated GP, but in the end it ended in a podium. We decided to use the soft tyre; it went well, but not enough to fight for the victory. We arrive in France very prepared and with a lot of desire to continue working. First we have to put in the work, which we are doing, and then the results will come; it’s closer than we think.

Ryusei Yamanaka: ‘I am very confident after the last two races. Now we have another goal, which is to make a good tyre choice, to have a correct set up, to have a good pace in the race. We are evolving and we will get there. Now we also have to have fun on the bike, which is also important.
