Jan Solans y Rodrigo Sanjuán finish the Rally Tierras de Aboboreira showing a good pace

Jan Solans and Rodrigo Sanjuán made their debut on gravel with the GR Yaris Rally2 in the Tierras de Aboboreira Rally, a round of the Portuguese championship, which has served the team to see what they will face in the Rally of Portugal, a WRC2 event.

The first contact with the gravel has been satisfactory as it has allowed them to adapt to the car and to make some technical adjustments that led them to set the second fastest time in the last stage of the rally. However, a mistake on SS5 put them a long way off the top three and they finished the rally in sixth position.

In general, the performance of the whole team has been optimal so everything learned in this test will be put into practice in the Rally of Portugal, which will be held from 9 to 12 May.

Jan Solans (DRIVER): “‘Our goal was more than achieved, which was to put some kilometres on the GR Yaris Rally2 for the first time on gravel. We finished very happy, especially with the final adjustments we made on the last section and we managed to set the second fastest time. Being in this rally has been very valuable for the next event, which is the Rally of Portugal, so I am grateful to the team for the opportunity and for the impeccable work”.

Rodrigo Sanjuán (CO-DIVER): “First kilometres on gravel with our Yaris GR Rally2, where we have been able to draw positive conclusions after this Rally Terras D’Aboboreira, especially in terms of set up and being able to measure ourselves with our rivals in what will be the WRC test. We are very happy with the pace we have maintained during the test and the evolution with the car. It was a great opportunity to do this test on the same tracks and surfaces as we will find in two weeks’ time. As always, many thanks to all the members of the team for their fantastic work, we have the best professionals at our side and of course to all those who make this adventure possible ”.

Teo Martín (TEAM MANAGER): “The team has achieved its goal of getting more kilometres on gravel with the GR Yaris Raly2 as well as finding a good set-up that will allow both Jan and the car to get the best out of it ahead of the Rally of Portugal”.
